New World MMO - Gameplay Footage

This one has been flying under the radar a little bit... Commerce giant Amazon have created a game studio that has been working on New World, a sandbox MMO that was leaked through pornhub, of all things.

New World will let the player carve their destiny in a world populated with hundreds of other players in a 'savage and arcane 17th century world'. It is also said that you'd be able to build fortified strongholds, work in teams and even 'strike out to claim a piece of the haunted frontier', whatever that means.

As appealing as this sounds, I couldn't help but feel like this was just your typical MMO, however, after doing some digging I found the Amazon listing page and had a little browse through the following selection of screenshots:

At this point I was starting to get pretty intrigued. The game looks stunning and diverse which left me wanting more. I scoured the page looking for additional details and came across the following:

  • Join forces with scores of other players to form powerful companies of craftspeople, mercenaries, prospectors and architects.

  • Claim territories and leverage your dominion to consolidate power and compel loyalty.

  • Fight for survival against enemy raiders, brutal wilderness, and gathering evil.

  • Craft hundreds of items, from magical elixirs and deadly weapons to sprawling fortifications.

  • Sign in with your Amazon account to enable registration for the New World Alpha Test.

Without hesitation I signed up so that I would be able to access the New World Alpha Test once it becomes available. That's when I saw the Alpha Footage... A quick look at a region of New World called Windsward, a vast grassland and forest landscape with abundant flora and fauna. The gameplay looks smooth, gorgeous and is extremely intriguing, I hope they don't mess this up... Keep your eyes peeled.

Let us know on social media what you think about New World! Are you excited? Or are your expectations low? We would love to know!
