id Software gives us visceral look into Doom Eternal

Doom Eternal is the follow-up to 2016's Reboot of the legendary series and it promises to big and better than ever. Officially announced during this year's E3 through a Cinematic trailer

Bethesda promised to show us more during this year's Quakecon - and boy have they delivered. Doom Slayer is back again equipped with a brand new look and a new weapon called the Ballista - a gun that shoots an explosive bolt, idSoftware says they have created the "strongest most powerful hero" form of our favourite Demon-killer. A bunch of new weapons were also shown in order for you to kick some demon butt, and speaking of demons, some of your favourites have been revisited and reimagined.

However, a new character called Marauder - who looks a lot like Doom Slayer - was teased alongside a backstory as to why him and Doom Slayer look so alike.

The gameplay video shown gives us a good look at just how crazy Doom Eternal is going to be -in typical Doom fashion, the video jumps straight into killing demons showing all kinds of ways to destroy them - whether it's now using a grappling hook to get straight into the action, cutting them apart with your new blade, burning them with a flamethrower or just using the good old-fashioned shotgun and much, much more. If you want to get up-close and personal, Doom Slayer can now climb certain walls or use a short-dash and all of this goes hand-in-hand with a new power-up shown called Blood Punch - which allows the players to ... you guessed it, punch demons to oblivion. Id Software also confirmed that there's going to be a lot of locations for you to fight demons in as they aim to build a Doom Universe and not just another sequel. Alongside that, they said players will be able to invade and control demons and join other players in hunting. Words really don't do justice to how crazy Doom Eternal looks, so you're better off watching the gameplay itself and letting us know what you think through our social media! As of now, Doom Eternal has no confirmed release date but we know it's releasing sometime in 2019 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch
