Hello everybody and welcome to the Vivify review of Golf with your friends.

Before we get into the review I just wanted to say a massive thank you to our patrons for voting on the review poll. We really appreciate your continued support!

Golf With Your Friends is multiplayer focused miniature golf game with 12 player support. It currently features seven 18-hole golf courses with various themes, multiple gamemodes, player created servers and many more features that I will get into shortly. With low system requirements and a full price of £4.79 or regional equivalent, this is certainly a head turner, but is it worth a second glance?..

Golf With Your Friends has been on an epic adventure to reach where it is today. It began its life on Steam Greenlight, and after a successful campaign the game was launched onto Steam Early Access. At the time, Golf With Your Friends had the bare minimum required for a multiplayer game. With just three courses, functioning multiplayer and some very basic options, a fair few people were rather disappointed with their purchase.

But times have changed. Over the last two years, the developers have worked hard and provided consistent updates including more levels, tons more custom game choices as well as ball customisation (yes, you heard me) and even more excitingly is the recent introduction of a level editor which offers players a plethora of levels to download and play with friends for free, which drastically increases the size and replayability of the game.

Setting up a game is easy with steam invite compatibility, you don’t have to mess around with setting up dedicated servers or any of that nonsense. You can also easily change between custom settings and modify a whole bunch of manipulators including ball size, shape, gravity and much more. With a 12-player cap, you have loads of space in your lobby for all of your imaginary friends… Oh wait… that’s just me.

Moving swiftly on, the gameplay itself is extremely satisfying, responsive and most importantly, enjoyable. I have personally encountered very few bugs, but I do get the occasional out of map glitch and my ball spawning off the course, which is pretty frustrating. Hitting the ball consists purely on using the mouse to aim and then selecting your power level. In fact, you only have to use one hand which means you can…Umm, never mind… If this is starting to sound relaxing to you, then let me bring you back down to Earth. Golf With Your Friends is an anger inducing friendship ending screaming festival in which you will watch your friends tear each other to shreds.

The biggest downside to Golf With Your Friends is the fact that it offers very little for players that are looking for a solo mini golf experience. Unfortunately, if that is what you are looking for, this one isn’t for you, however, the developers have stated that they will add offline single and hot-seat modes, so it is worth keeping your eye on. Sports games tend to get repetitive rather quickly, and this is no exception. But with more features still being added, it keeps the game fresh and exciting.

Overall, Golf With Your Friends is simply a no brainer. Although we don’t know when it will be leaving Early Access, the developers have confirmed that the price will rise when it does, so skip the coffee today and spend your saved cash on this beautifully infuriating friendship destroyer.
