Discord wants to become more than just your favourite communication software with the announcement of a store.
Through a blog post, Discord has announced the launch of their own store - it promises to be a more personalised version of Steam with curated Indie titles picked by Discord staff themselves. Discord's Store will also feature "First on Discord" - a showcase of indie titles exclusively released on Discord first for a limited time. Right now, the first and only titled confirmed was Bad North - a real-time tactics Viking game.
There’s already a number of games available including The Banner Saga 3, This is the Police 2, Starbound, Dead Cells and more!
Discord will also act like an universal launcher if you want - let it scan your PC for your games and it will link every other launcher (Steam, Battle.net, etc) and then simply run the game through Discord and it will automatically launch whatever launcher your game needs.
As of now, the Discord store is only available for a limited pool of Canadian users but it has already been promised that the Beta will slowly roll out to the rest of the world.
